Signe is a modern take on the classic butter knife holder that in Sweden is called a butter dachshund. It is slightly larger than traditionally and due to this it’s also a perfect holder for the ladle when cooking. With a great interest in food and old classic utensils, Straight Design Studio created Signe. It will not only be a practical object, but also a fine detail both on the set table and on the kitchen counter.
The inspiration came mainly from two directions. Viktors real dachshund named Signe of course, but also from his grandmother who was actually also named Signe. His grandma was a master of the kitchen and the butter dachshund was always on the table.
